Medicinal Chemistry & Pharmaceutical Technologies

Program Outline

Iinnovative Center of Chemical & Pharmaceutical Technologies of Ural Federal University is one of the leaders in the field of research & development of innovative drugs. For instance, the original antiviral drug TRIAZAVIRIN® is already being successfully launched in pharmacy networks, a number of other active compounds are at the preclinical/clinical studies. The development of medical chemistry and chemical-pharmaceutical technologies at UrFU became possible thanks to the world-class School of heterocyclic and medical chemistry, as well as cooperation traditions with the leading Russian and foreign research centers and pharmaceutical enterprises.

ADVANCED METHODS FOR THE DESIGN AND SYNTHESIS OF POTENTIAL ACTIVE PHARMACEUTICAL INGREDIENTS (API) AND FINISHED DOSAGE FORMS

Within the framework of the Program, the following basic courses are be proposed to participants, such as:

Medical chemistry;
Methods of organic synthesis in medical chemistry;
Drug technology, biological screening methods;
Computer-aided drug design;
Pharmaceutical drug development;
Biochemistry;
Biosensors;
Physical and chemical methods for studying the structure;
Preparing the finished drugs forms;
ITs in medicinal chemistry.

The most successful students will be able to take the unique opportunity to be involved in real scientific and innovative drug development projects. Educational disciplines will be conducted by highly qualified specialized experts of the Ural Federal University (Professors, Associate Professors, PostDocs, PhD Students), the high-tech equipment of the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Center will be used as well. The working language is English.

Laboratory of Pharmaceutical substance standardization;
Laboratory of Technology development and scaling;
Laboratory of Sensory technologies in Eco-, Bio- and pharm monitoring;
Laboratory of Primary bioscreening, cell and genomic technology;
Laboratory of Organic Synthesis;
Laboratory of Structural Investigations and physico-chemical methods of analysis.

Pre-requisites: Knowledge in Organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, and related fields.
